Remote Help Safety Rules
Remote support can be useful for setup, storage, email, photos, apps, backup checks, device organization, and decision support. It also requires sensible safety boundaries.
Never share private credentials
Do not share Apple ID passwords, email passwords, banking passwords, verification codes, recovery keys, payment card details, Social Security numbers, or private documents during a remote session.
You control the session
You should be able to see what is happening, stop the session, ask questions, and decline any step that feels uncomfortable.
When remote help is not enough
Cracked screens, swollen batteries, water damage, board problems, dangerous heat, and official account recovery may require qualified in-person service or official support channels.
Before a session
Charge the device if safe, have your device model ready, describe the symptom clearly, and avoid sending sensitive screenshots unless absolutely necessary and safe.
